Beginning as commemorative project involving ceramics, ‘yesterdays headlines’ was my interpretation of commemorative ware. Using the ‘not front page’ newspaper headlines I ‘commemorate’ on my jugs body. Archiving the headlines that would have been forgotten or thrown away if kept on paper.

The designs around the text were inspired by antique jugs in Cardiff museum and the V&A and recreated using coloured tin glazes. During the firing process the glazes & pencil ran bleeding into each other & running down the jugs, distorting & hiding what is on the jug
